This summer I made a huge decision to leave my job as classroom teacher in Eanes ISD. I have never been one to 'settle' with life and my working experiences have varied from delivering newspapers as a teenager, to working in the corporate world in marketing, waitressing while backpacking in Australia to becoming an educator. Education for me has been the most fulfilling yet most frustrating job for me. For so long the long hours, low pay and a myriad of challenges, didn't deter my eager heart from helping 'one more child.' Sadly, that ended for me this year. What's next? Who knows. For now, I will sit with my boys more often, touch their faces frequently, and enjoy the calmer mornings, less stressful evenings and breathe...
